Privacy Policy

Aulosyne is offline-first, not artificially “offline-only.” Core local playback can work without the internet, while optional features may use the internet or your local network when you enable or request them.

Effective: 15 August 2026
No Aretivo accountYou do not need to register or provide your name, email address or profile information to use Aulosyne.
No ads or behavioural analyticsAretivo does not use Aulosyne to build advertising profiles or measure you with an analytics platform.
Optional network useOnline lyrics, AutoEQ searching, Last.fm and casting can make network requests when used or enabled.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Aulosyne and to other Aretivo applications that link to this policy, unless a separate app-specific notice is provided. It explains what information is handled locally, when optional features communicate over a network, and how third-party services may be involved.

2. What Aretivo does not collect

Aretivo does not require an account and does not operate an advertising or analytics backend for Aulosyne.

  • No Aretivo account, profile or sign-in is required for core use.
  • No advertising identifiers are collected by Aretivo for advertising.
  • No behavioural analytics or telemetry is intentionally sent to Aretivo.
  • Aretivo does not upload your local audio library to an Aretivo server.

3. Information stored locally

To provide the player’s features, Aulosyne may read or store information on your device.

  • Audio-file and library metadata needed to display and play your music.
  • Playlists, playback state, statistics, bookmarks, favourites and preferences.
  • Equalizer profiles, AutoEQ assignments/rules and customisation settings.
  • Lyrics or artwork that you choose to save or cache locally.
  • Metadata changes that you explicitly choose to embed into supported audio files.

4. Optional internet and local-network features

Aulosyne can access the internet or your local network when a feature requires it. These features are not necessary for basic local music playback. Some can also operate automatically after you have explicitly enabled their automatic mode.

  • Online lyrics: when enabled, Aulosyne can send track-identifying information such as title, artist and album, plus other matching information required for the search, to the lyrics provider (currently LRCLIB). If automatic lyric fetching is enabled, these lookups may occur when eligible tracks change.
  • Last.fm: if you connect a Last.fm account and enable scrobbling, playback information needed for that feature is sent to Last.fm. Last.fm authentication and service-side processing are governed by Last.fm’s own terms and privacy practices.
  • AutoEQ searching: when you perform an online AutoEQ/profile search, search terms or device/headphone-identifying information needed to find a matching profile may be sent to the profile/search source used by that feature.
  • DLNA / Chromecast: when you cast, Aulosyne uses the local network and/or the selected casting platform to discover, connect to and control a compatible receiver. Playback metadata, device/network addressing information and media-control traffic may be exchanged as required by the selected protocol or receiver.
  • External links: if you choose links such as Google Play, Patreon, Buy Me a Coffee, email or other external sites, the destination service handles the information associated with that visit under its own policies.

5. Third-party services

Aretivo does not sell your personal data. Optional connected features may communicate with independent third-party services solely to perform the feature you requested or enabled.

Those services may receive technical network information such as your IP address as part of normal internet communication and may keep their own logs. Their handling and retention practices are controlled by them, not Aretivo.

6. Permissions and device access

Aulosyne may request Android permissions or system access needed for the features you use, which can include:

  • Music/audio or storage access to find and play local files.
  • Notification access for playback controls and background playback.
  • Bluetooth / nearby-device access where Android requires it for audio-device features.
  • Internet, network and local-network access for optional online services and casting.
  • USB device access when you choose supported experimental USB audio / bit-perfect functionality.

7. Retention and deletion

Local settings and player data generally remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. Changes embedded into an audio file remain in that file until you edit or replace the file.

Aretivo does not maintain an Aulosyne user-account database to delete. Information sent to a third-party service is subject to that service’s own retention and deletion rules.

8. Security

Aulosyne is designed to minimise unnecessary transmission by keeping core playback and most player state on-device. However, no device, network, third-party service or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Use optional network features only if you are comfortable with the relevant service or receiving device processing the information required for that feature.

9. Children’s privacy

Aretivo does not knowingly operate Aulosyne for the purpose of collecting personal information from children. Optional third-party services may impose their own age requirements or terms, which users or guardians should review before enabling those services.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the effective date on this page will be updated. Material changes may also be described in app release notes or other appropriate notices.

This policy is written to reflect the current Aulosyne behaviour described by the app code supplied for this website update. If a future release adds a new online provider, account system, analytics, crash reporting or other data flow, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration should be reviewed again before release.
